Thoughts On Alexander Wang for H&M + Lookbook

intro

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you’ve already witnessed my disappointment in this collection. I’m sure I’ll end up buying something, but I won’t be emptying my wallet into H&M as I had intended to all these months leading up to the release on November 6th. However, I would definitely give this collection an A+ for promotional efforts.

Unfortunately, the clothes and accessories didn’t deliver the way I would have hoped for. Personally I think they went overboard with the “WANG” and “AW” logos making appear very cheap and I think it’s a bit too sporty. There’s no versatility in this collection and the prices seem a bit steep for it to be an H&M garment or accessory. There are a few things I have my eye on that I might snag online and I will do a review in a later post.

#Trending: The Pretty Ugly Sandal

There has been no question that the Birkenstock sandal is the ugly step sister of  all sandals. Fashion goers had a change of heart when Phoebe Phlio introduced a fur-lined Birkenstock in her Celine S/S ’13 collection. Since then the Birkenstock sandal has no longer only reserved for the hippie or treehugger. This trend can be seen everywhere this season offered in a variety of colors and textures.

Even the Olsen twins have been spotted sporting a pair of Birkenstock sandals, so you can stop fighting it now!
